MA Art History, Carleton University

Emma Biberdorf is a second year Master’s student in the Art History department at Carleton University. Her research focuses on propaganda, sexuality, and LGBTQ2S+ visual histories of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries; primarily focused on female monarchs and women in positions of power. She graduated from Mount Allison University in Sackville, NB in 2020 with a double major in History and Art History, as well as received the departmental Art History award. During this time, she worked in the Mount Allison University archives as an archival assistant, which inspired an interest in the relationship between art history and the collections process.
