MA Art and Architectural History, Specialization in Digital Humanities, Carleton University

Emily VIlé is a first year Master’s student in Art and Architectural History, specializing in Digital Humanities at Carleton University. Her research focuses on creating a framework for learning and creating art involving digital technologies in secondary classrooms and art institutions. She graduated from Queen’s University in Kingston, ON in 2019, with a major in Art History and a minor in Film and Media Studies. She graduated with a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University, in 2021, specializing in visual art and history teaching. Her focus was to strategize ways to further engage students with art making practices within their community. During this time, Emily took advantage of online university and completed an intense ten week Digital Marketing program through the Telfer School of Business at Ottawa University. Emily has worked as a secondary high school teacher in a variety of arts classrooms, volunteered at the 2019 Venice Biennale in the Canadian Pavilion in 2019, and she recently completed a learning and engagement practicum at the Ottawa Art Gallery.
